So here are some cool fundraisers to honor our Sylvia. Sylvi's Soldiers will be walking on Saturday, Apr. 17 here in Dubuque for the March of Dimes Walk. All are welcome to participate, just let me know if you plan on participating. We are having special shirts made up for the walk. The first photo above is the BACK of the shirt. The second is the FRONT of the shirt. I also want to open up the shirts to people not walking. We'd love to see them on as many people as possible. Originally Andy and I were going to foot the bill for all the shirts for anyone that wanted them, but we changed our minds. We want to use our Sylvia memorial money for lasting memorials for Sylvia. For instance, we are planting a flower tree in her honor in Babyland at Mt. Olivet Cemetery where she rests. I'm also looking into having her name engraved in a stone children's book at the Arboretum here in town. The book is in the Children's Garden. I feel like these shirts are a way each of you can give in Sylvi's honor. I did not put the year on the shirts as it is my hope that we can use the shirts year after year. The shirts are $10 each with $3 from each shirt going towards CDH research. They are really neat! They will do a nice job at spreading all of our visible love for Sylvia as well as raise awareness about CDH. Please let me know if you are interested in getting any shirts and the sizes you want. We'd love for all the walkers on the team to get shirts as they are our team color of turqouise. Turqouise is the color of CDH awareness.
A smaller fundraiser we are doing in honor of Sylvia is selling CDH awareness ribbons (turqouise). They are $1 each with the proceeds going to Breath of Hope for CDH awareness. Did you know National CDH awareness day is March 31? Neither did I until last year. These ribbons were made to be worn on this day and every day. Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing any ribbons also.

Hi, Beth, The shirts look beautiful! We'd like one for everyone in our family! We'll send you an email with our size info. One way to do it is to find your way into a person's list of favorites. I used to not visit very often, but them I saved your blogsite into my favorite web sites (you should be honored, there are only 2), and now I visit more often!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
