WELCOME TO OUR WORLD!!!

Welcome to our journey of love, living in the face of loss and just plain living. We've experienced the greatest loss a parent can face--the loss our our baby daughter, Sylvia. She flew to Heaven due to complications of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) on 2/26/09. We have two "Earth Angel" children, Will and Stella. They have been a great help on this journey. We live a blessed rich life in spite of our loss. We are lucky to be parents to such special children. They are our life. Welcome to our life!

Pray for peace for the family of Ireland Rose

Ireland Rose earned her angel wings after 11 days of fighting the cdh monster! This makes me sick! Her mother wrote a beautiful letter to Ireland and posted it on her blog. I couldn't help but tear up at it. While Sylvia's fight was different and much shorter, I can empathize with her emotions. She speaks about simply saying "I love you" to Ireland when she runs out of things to say. I do the same. Sometimes when I sit at Sylvia's grave, all my words and thoughts escape me. All I can think to say is "I love you and miss you sooooooooo much."
Please pray for peace for this wonderful family. You can check out their blog at

In other events of my day, work stunk today. Just one of those days! Well, except for one thing. My staff (all two of them) told me they visited Sylvia over the weekend. How sweet of them! They heard so much about Sylvia's stone and knew I spent several lunch breaks at the monument dealer that I think they had to see the fruit of my labor. I also know they thought of her as their too and I love that. I need to post pics of the stone soon. Andy and I tag teamed to make taco salad for supper. After supper, we went on a walk. Will rode his bike. I did a couple loads of laundry. Now I have to go fold the laundry while Will is getting a bath via Andy.

We had a nice weekend. We went to Peoria to visit some good friends. Will got to play with his buddy, Cayden. While there we got some shopping in. When we were in line at Old Navy to check-out, I noticed this beautiful journal. On the front was a flower with blue and pink petals. I knew right away that I had to have this and what I had to write about. My little one coming that is either a boy or girl (I hope!) representing the blue and pink. The flower represents how I view this baby at this point--delicate for it is soooooooo little unable to sustain life on its own at this point. I made my first entry in the journal on the way home Sunday. This journal belongs to Baby #3, the best surprise of my life!
