Way closer to 37 weeks actually, but today was my official 36-week appointment. I had another ultrasound. Didn't get any good pictures to share with you this time. Baby's face was facing my back today. Heart rate is 136. Estimated weight of baby is 7 pounds 7 oz. as of now which puts it in the 90th percentile. That is okay though--don't really need to worry about size with a c-section. They said baby should gain about a pound more by the time it is born. However, I'm guessing it will be at least 9 pounds 4oz as that is the AVERAGE weight of our babies thus far. I see several out there think this baby is girl. By that old wives tale of using heart rate to determine the gender, it looks to be a boy (today anyhow). I'm thinking it is a girl more these days. But, I REALLY don't care. I just want to bring this baby home to far outlive both of its parents!
Since my last appointment, both Andy's cousin and my cousin had babies on the same day--Feb. 3! Welcome to Drake, son of Kristi (Andy's cousin) and Tony as well as Gwen, daughter of Erin and David (my cousin). All are well. Congrats to them all!
Tonight we took our nephew, Anthony and Will to a hockey game. It was fun. Will's favorite part was watching the Zamboni clear the ice. Anthony's favorite part was the "crashes." There's loads of physical contact. As we were in the front row, we got to witness it firsthand. I think both boys heard some adult lingo they hadn't heard before. Hockey fans are hard core! It was a fun night though even though I left covered in dippin' dots! Man did the boys like that treat! I watched them interact and thought, "This could be us in a couple weeks--if we have a boy, they'll be the same age spread as Anthony and Will." Hopefully Will would be as nice to his kid brother as his cousin is to him!
I can't sleep well anymore, but am tired now so I'm gonna try to catch some zzz's. Will is on a kick of getting up early and screaming. He's out of sorts too in the morning. It's like he just knows his world is going to change. He gives me the cold shoulder for it in the mornings and clings to daddy. But, he gets back to normal when daddy leaves--weird!
Can't wait to hear that this little one is here safe and sound! When is your c-section again? Will is prob going though a phase, he loves his mommy!!
ReplyDeleteShayla's heart rate was the same as yours towards the end of my pregnancy. That's why I think I was never positive that she was a girl until she was her. I'm sticking to my guns and you're having a girl!! :-)

A girl it is!!!

I am probably one of the few but I am guessing a boy. Although they have been on a rise so could be girl. I still go with first instinct and say boy. Glad everything is going well and see him/her in less than two weeks.
