Hello all,
Will had a great Halloween. This was the first year he really understood all that was going on. He loved the trick or treating! He got so many compliments that he is so cute, etc. He'd go in after the big kids that have no business trick or treating and people would give him about three pieces of candy. Who says it doesn't pay to have good looks. We were the only Thomas the Train that we saw. Thanks to Anthony for letting us borrow his costume. That was the easiest costume ever and soooooooo cute! I, on the other hand, had many mixed emotions this Halloween. I was so happy for Will knowing all that he'd experience, but so sad that Sylvia wasn't here with us. Instead I visited her at the cemetery. She'll be an angel this and every Halloween. It's been a rough week. Lots of tears when I think of her. All Souls' Day is tomorrow. Andy and I will be attending some Masses to honor her. Her name will be read aloud at our parish Mass. The pregnancy is going well thus far. The 20-week ultrasound was great, but that one always goes fine. Having a level II ultrasound done in Iowa City gave me way more reassurance than one here in Dubuque would have. We'll see how the 36-week one goes. It will surprise me if they actually let me go that long without giving me one sooner. I'm starting to feel kicks ever so slightly daily now. Kicks feel different with having an anterior placenta this time around. Those are a couple big words, but nothing to worry about--just a reason why I haven't felt movement as much this time around. Our little family has lots planned for the upcoming weekends. We continue to have fun with each other. I am so thankful for my little family. Each member has added so much to my life. Well, the battery is low on the computer so I'm going to end this and enjoy watching "The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" with Will. He loves it!
Sylvia will also be remembered right there in Dubuque by the Presentation Sisters as well as back here at St Michael's.

Hi, Beth... Older sister here... I am just visiting your blog and had quite a bit of catching up reading to do. Blogs, facebook, twitter, etc are not really in my arsenal of communucations options... For me, email still seems so amazing and useful...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, since we weren't able to connect via phone yesterday, I thought I'd visit your site. You have written so much! And you've been experiencing so much joy and so much pain! I do wish we lived closer together so I could see you and Will and Andy!
I am so sorry that you won't be coming to our annual girls' week-end in a few weeks. I was looking forward to seeing you and talk, talk, talking! I do, however, respect your choice to stay home and spend quality time with your family.
Sylvia will be remembered at St. Odilia's in Shoreview, MN too. We have special prayers and Masses for those whose names are written in a special book in our Church. Yesterday, Xavier asked me if we could write Sylvia's name in the book. And so I will add her name today!
I hope today's sunshine brings you peace and hope!
Love you!
Lynda
Beth just wanted to tell you the pictures of Will are sooo cute. Glad he enjoyed Halloween, I think it is one of the hardest for them to start liking because some costumes are to scary or peoples yard decorations. Glad you guys had fun Mickie
